He put out a message on the Bitcointalk forum that read – “I’ll pay 10000 Bitcoins for a couple of pizzas.. like maybe 2 large ones so I have some leftover for the next day”
“I like having leftover pizza to nibble on later. You can make the pizza yourself and bring it to my house or order it for me from a delivery place, but what I’m aiming for is getting food delivered in exchange for bitcoins where I don’t have to order or prepare it myself, kind of like ordering a ‘breakfast platter’ at a hotel or something, they just bring you something to eat and you’re happy!”
Two days later, a British guy named Jeremy Sturdivant AKA Jercos got in touch with Laszlo via internet relay chat and offered to broker the deal. Finally, Jercos spent $40 for two pizzas and got them delivered from Papa John’s. And, thatโs how history was made.
This is one crazy story! In case, youโre wondering if Laszlo regrets his move, now that itโs worth $400 Million. No, he doesnโt. In an interview, he says itโs pretty cool to have a holiday in my honor.
