Ripple’s Honest Pitch: Some XRP Is Better Than None, RLUSD Fills The Gaps

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said XRP is not the right tool for every transaction, but the company will use it wherever it makes sense. Asked to describe Ripple in 60 seconds as if no one had heard of it, Garlinghouse called it a blockchain infrastructure firm that began with payments, then moved into corporate treasury and prime brokerage. XRP serves as the foundation across those businesses, and Ripple prioritises it because doing so is in its own interest, he said. Garlinghouse acknowledged that XRP is highly efficient in some cases and less so in others. When a client’s payment runs through fiat or RLUSD instead, Ripple still gets part of the business. He said he would rather see XRP handle a small share of a customer’s transactions than none at all.
