Apple Stock Premarket Today: AAPL Falls 4% On Weak Margin Outlook In Ternus’s First Quarter

Apple shares slid about 4.4% to around $323.61 before Tuesday’s open after a margin outlook that fell short of expectations. Fourth-quarter revenue came in above forecasts, but iPad sales missed estimates. It was Apple’s first report since John Ternus replaced Tim Cook as CEO in September. Ternus called it the company’s best fiscal year on record, despite supply limits and currency pressure. Rising memory prices remain the main concern. Leverage Shares’ Violeta Todorova said memory costs and spending on Siri AI are weighing on profits, while chip shortages may limit Mac and iPad supply. Apple stock is still up 25% this year. Palantir fell 6% even after beating third-quarter forecasts, with US commercial revenue overtaking government sales for the first time.
