The rapid growth of the cryptocurrency market and digital assets has led to the fact that we can’t ignore crypto as a new way of payment for businesses and companies.

If you decide to use digital assets as an additional way of accepting payments, you will need a cryptocurrency payment gateway.

The Gateway will allow you to receive digital funds in your wallet and then manage them as you wish.

But here comes another problem: there are too many companies that offer you crypto processing solutions.

For that matter, we’ve collected the 10 best cryptocurrency payment gateways, compared them, and made a list that will help you to decide.

Making easy for you to understand which company you should use to accept crypto payments on your website or physical store.

1.Coinbase Payment Gateway

Even though you might have heard about the Coinbase exchange, you may have never seen their commercial offerings, including a cryptocurrency payment gateway.

One of the strongest selling points of the Coinbase payment gateway is that Coinbase is based in the U.S., which means that the company follows all the currency exchange laws being executed in the country.

If you decide to use Coinbase’s processing gateway, you will receive a free service on the first 1$ million of transactions. After exceeding that amount, you will pay a 1% fee from then on.

2. CoinsPaid Bitcoin Payment Processing

CoinsPaid payment gateway allows to immediately accept payment in 30+ cryptocurrencies, including USDT, Bitcoin and Ethereum. Accounting for the processing of 5% of all on-chain Bitcoin transactions.

In August 2021, the total number of processed operations exceeded 9.5 mln. Since January 2021, CoinsPaid has processed transactions worth 2.3 bln EUR.

Currently, CoinsPaid is working with more than 700 merchants and has seven years of experience in cryptocurrency payment processing.

CoinsPaid remains the #1 service by the number of processed transactions for the gaming industry with 100% legal and licensed service.

CoinsPaid processing and transactions fees are less than 1% which is less than the market average.

In addition to low fees and a highly developed ecosystem, their clients receive multiple solutions for their business: multi-currency wallets with a built-in exchange, OTC desk, and soon-to-be-released DeFi solutions.

CoinsPaid was awarded payment provider of the year and payment innovation of the year, so it will be a fine addition to your business or company.

3. Bitpay

Bitpay is one of the first Bitcoin payment gateway providers in the world. The company has been operating in the U.S. since 2011.

Their payment gateway works with open-source plugins that you can easily install on your phone or eCommerce platform and start receiving digital assets as payments.

Bitpay is accepted in more than 38 countries, but it still has some big markets unserviced, which may become their main drawback for some users.

But even though Bitpay is not covering some countries out there, their strong selling point remains the credit card to the bitcoin payment gateway available for U.S. residents.

To make payments outside the country, you will have to pay up to 3% for the currency exchange commission.

If you decide to use Bitpay to accept crypto payments on your website, you will have to pay a 1% fee right away.

Coinpayments is one of the largest payment gateways on the crypto market. According to their website, it offers an easy-to-use and real-time payment settlement and ecosystem.

The main selling point of Coinpayments is the ability to set up their cryptoprocessing gateway through e-commerce plugins directly on your website.

In addition to that, Coinpayments works almost in every country of the world and provides points of sale for in-person transactions with crypto payments.

Coinpayments fees also stay at the “lower than 1%” mark, which makes them an overall good solution for those who are looking for easy implementation of the blockchain payment gateway on their website.

5. Coingate

Coingate is another large-scale crypto payment processor that provides its service for users from all over the world.

It has more than 50 supported coins and various easy-to-implement solutions for website owners.

The Platform allows you to install a single button on your website to receive Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other digital currency transactions.

Working with an industry-standard 1% fee,This fee includes SEPA transfers and bitcoin payouts fees.

With the majority of their cryptocurrency reserves stored in the cold wallet, both B2B and B2C users can rest assured about the safety of their digital assets.

For their users, it’s a strong sign of security and safety of their funds. If the bitcoin gateway gets hacked, the funds will be locked and inaccessible in the hacker’s wallet.

Blockchain is one of the oldest bitcoin and cryptocurrency-related websites that acquire on-chain data and market analytics.

In addition to informational services, Blockchain provides businesses with cryptocurrency receiving solutions.

Blockchain primarily promotes their service for individual clients that are willing to open a bitcoin wallet.

To use their payment gateway for business purposes, you will need their Bitcoin payment API that you can find on their website.

To install their solution on your website, you will need an actual technical knowledge of HTML and JavaScript, which is not the best way for modern businesses.

In addition to technical complexity, Blockchain only provides a wallet address and not the actual processing solutions.

For those reasons, we can’t put Blockchain’s solution as high in our list as previously mentioned services.

7.  Opennode

Opennode is another major company that provides crypto settlement solutions for businesses.

The main selling point is “plug and play” implementation of their services directly on your website using Woocommerce plugins.

Easy-to-use solutions will be suitable for small websites and companies that are unwilling to spend additional funds on web admins and technical workers.

Just choose Opennode on your plugin screen and you are good to go.

The main drawback was the absence of a list of bitcoin merchants that Opennode works with.

Hence, we can’t see the volume that Opennode processes nor the businesses that they work with.

8. B2BinPay

B2B in Pay is another payment gateway solution for merchants all over the world.

Sadly their website doesn’t provide any useful data and information that we can use to compare it with competitors.

Our research helped us determine that their transaction fees are as low as 0,5%, which makes it amongst the lowest fees in the industry.

But the low fees do not always equal the best solution. Since we didn’t find any data about the merchants that they are working with nor the real processed volume, we can’t put them with our top 5 service providers.

9. Triple A

Triple A is an international bitcoin payment service that’s compliant with MAS, Singapore’s Central Bank.

This payment processing company promotes itself as a safe solution for businesses willing to accept cryptocurrency as a payment method.

The company provides support for anyone who’s trying to implement their technologies on their website and uses both e-Commerce plugins and APIs.

Triple A works with more than 900 businesses worldwide and processes more than $12 million in USD.

According to their website, they are operating in 60+ countries which, in comparison to other companies, can be considered as the industry average.

10. BTCPay Server

BTCPay server is truly a unique solution amongst the companies that we’ve reviewed in this article.

While other payment processing companies work as a third party between your business and your customers, the BTCPay server allows you to create and set up your cryptocurrency payment gateway.

The obvious drawback is the technical difficulties that you might face during the setup of their solution, but the main advantage for you will be the absence of any type of fee.

If you own a large company with millions or maybe even billions of volume, you might be considering setting up your own gateway.

However, be ready to spend money for the network fees plus technical maintenance of your cryptoprocessing system.

Choosing a cryptocurrency payment gateway is a massive step towards modernization and massive adoption. Our list will help you to decide which way to choose. But to be honest with you, there is no point in looking for a gateway solution within places above the fifth in this list. While the service itself may be similar, the additional solutions and support that come with it should be your main choosing point. CoinsPaid, Coingate, Coinpayments, Coinbase, and Bitpay are the leaders of the industry that will provide you with awesome service at a low fee.
