Donald Trump has been very vocal about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency since the start of his re-election campaign. On August 2nd, he gave an interview to Maria Bartiromo from Fox Business, where he shared his views on strengthening the US economy.

And well, you’re probably not ready for his EXPLOSIVE statements! Read on below.

    A Radical Proposal

During the interview, the Presidential candidate Donald Trump suggested paying off the country’s debt with Bitcoin. A video clip from the interview has gone viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the clip, Trump can be heard saying:

โ€œMaybe, we can pay off our 35 Trillion debt by handing them a little crypto check, hand them a little Bitcoin and wipe out the $35 trillionโ€

    Trump’s Pro-Crypto Stance

Donald Trump has been a significant supporter of Bitcoin over the past year. He has proposed many pro-crypto initiatives and consistently advocated for cryptocurrency, particularly Bitcoin, throughout his re-election campaign. At a conference in Nashville, he outlined his vision for America to become a Bitcoin superpower, promising to establish a strategic national Bitcoin reserve from the Bitcoin seized by the US government. He stated that if elected President in November, he would not sell the 200,000 BTC currently in US custody.

    A Bold Vision for America

Trump has repeatedly expressed his strong desire to make America the leading crypto power. He believes that the US should use crypto to strengthen its economy and allow cryptocurrency to flourish under the US umbrella. According to him, if the US does not seize this opportunity, China will, and he is determined to prevent that.

    Bashing the Current Crypto Regulations

Trump has also criticized the current administration and the SEC for their stance on cryptocurrency, arguing that they take legal actions without creating a clear regulatory structure. He believes these strict laws hinder the growth that crypto innovation can bring to America.

Could this be the game-changer cryptocurrency needs? The countdown to November begins.
