Tether enters AI space with open-source model combining decentralization, crypto, and global device access.
Integrated crypto payments enable AI apps to send Bitcoin and USDT with zero middlemen.
Tether envisions billions of AI agents forming a global, peer-to-peer, intelligent network system.
Tetherโs CEO, Paolo Ardoino, has announced the companyโs entry into artificial intelligence with a project called Tether AI. This isn’t just another AI chatbot or cloud-based tool, itโs a vision of a decentralized, open-source future for AI, and itโs built with crypto ( Bitcoin and USDT ) in mind.
No Central Control, No Gatekeepers
At the heart of the project is something called โPersonal Infinite Intelligenceโ, a fully open-source AI runtime that can run on any device or hardware โ no cloud dependency, no API keys, and most importantly, no single point of control.ย
That means anyone, anywhere, can deploy and run their own AI system, without needing permission or paying ongoing fees to centralized providers.
This model challenges the growing trend of corporate-controlled AI services. While most AI tools today rely heavily on large cloud systems from big tech companies, Tetherโs version aims to put the power back into the hands of individuals and developers.
Fully Modular and Composable
The project is also designed to be modular and composable means that developers can build, customize, and connect different parts of the system easily, creating AI tools that work exactly how they want, whether for personal use, business, or something entirely new.
Strong Support for USDT and Bitcoin
One of the most exciting features is that Tetherโs new AI runtime will have the ability to work seamlessly with their WDK (likely a developer kit). This integration means developers can create smart applications that handle cryptocurrency transactions directly.
The key here is that users will be able to send and receive cryptocurrencies like USDT (Tether) and Bitcoin without relying on any third parties or intermediaries.
Future Full of AI Agents
Looking ahead, Ardoino revealed a larger goal, to build a peer-to-peer network of billions of AI agents, each one interacting freely across devices and systems. Itโs a vision that mirrors how Bitcoin changed finance, and now, Tether hopes to do something similar for AI.
Tether AI could mark a new era where intelligence is not just artificial, but also accessible, open, and free from control.
