Cardano Founder Charles Hoskinson Praises Justin Sun, Doubts CLARITY Act Passage

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has praised TRON founder Justin Sun while sharing a more reserved outlook on the stalled CLARITY Act. He also addressed Monad, making it clear that he has no issue with the project.

Hoskinson Praises Justin Sun

Hoskinson spoke positively about his long-standing relationship with Justin Sun, describing it as friendly and respectful despite their different positions in the crypto industry.

“I like Justin Sun, he’s been very nice to me throughout all the years. We’ve had a very pleasant, affable relationship, a lot of respect,” Hoskinson said.

He also praised Sun’s ability to keep pushing forward and taking ambitious bets.

“He’s done incredible. He’s just one direction, up. You gotta admire him for it,” Hoskinson said.

Hoskinson pointed to Sun’s willingness to take risks, adding that he “always swings for the fences.” He also referenced Sun’s high-profile activities, including his trip to space and his ongoing dispute with the U.S. president.

No Issue With Monad

Hoskinson also addressed Monad (MON) and made his position clear: “I have no issue with Monad.”

The comment comes as different blockchain ecosystems continue competing for developers, users and capital. Hoskinson’s response indicates that he does not view Monad’s growth as something inherently negative for Cardano or its ecosystem.

CLARITY Act Outlook Turns Bearish

While Hoskinson was positive toward Sun, his view of U.S. crypto legislation was considerably less optimistic.

The Cardano founder predicts that the CLARITY Act will “probably not” pass, adding another bearish assessment to the growing uncertainty surrounding the legislation.

The bill has already advanced through parts of the legislative process, but its Senate timeline remains uncertain after lawmakers left Washington for the August recess without holding a full floor vote. Issues including DeFi, ethics provisions and stablecoin-related provisions continue to complicate negotiations.

For Cardano and the wider crypto market, the outcome remains important because clearer rules could influence how blockchain projects operate and attract investment in the United States.

What Hoskinson’s Comments Mean

Hoskinson’s latest comments offer two very different signals. He remains respectful of competitors and industry figures such as Justin Sun, while showing little concern about Monad’s emergence. At the same time, his “probably not” prediction on CLARITY shows how uncertain the U.S. regulatory path remains.

For now, the comments are more about industry relationships and regulatory expectations than any immediate change to ADA or TRX fundamentals.
