KBC Bank has become the 1st to offer crypto trading services in Belgium under the MiCA rules.
The bank will use the Bolero platform to offer seamless crypto trading services beginning next month.
The rising adoption of BTC by financial institutions is a major source of regulated liquidity amid its mainstream adoption.
KBC Group (Euronext Brussels: KBC) will begin offering crypto trading services on February 16, 2026. The second largest bank in Belgium, which has more than $300 billion in assets under management (AUM), is the first bank in the country to offer regulated crypto trading services.
KBC Bank to Offer Crypto Trading Services Via Bolero Platform
Earlier on Thursday, January 15, KBC Banks announced that it will begin to offer crypto trading services the week of February 16. The bank stated that it will offer crypto trading services to its 4 million users through its Bolero Investment platform.
As such, the bank will become the first to offer such services in Belgium under the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulation.
“By offering the opportunity to purchase and sell crypto within a regulated framework, we are making innovation concrete and accessible. At the same time, we are demonstrating that KBC remains ready to assume its role as an innovator in a market where new players are rapidly evolving,” Erik Luts, Chief Innovation Officer at KBC Group, stated.
A Rising Trend? What’s Next?
The enactment of the MiCA rules across Europe has catalyzed the mainstream adoption of digital assets by both retail and institutional investors. Earlier this month, DZ Bank, the second-largest bank in Germany with more than €660 billion in assets under management (AUM), began to offer crypto trading services under the MiCA regulations.
The bank stated that BaFin authorized its crypto trading platform meinKrypto to offer trading services across Europe for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA), and Litecoin (LTC). The rising adoption of Bitcoin by financial institutions across Europe will play a crucial role in providing liquidity amid an anticipated parabolic bull rally in 2026.
