Anthropic Files S-1 With the SEC for Proposed IPO Under ANT Ticker

Story Highlights
  • Anthropic filed its S-1 registration statement with the SEC on October 26 for a proposed Nasdaq IPO under ANT.

  • Market expectations suggest Anthropic could seek a $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion valuation and raise $100 billion.

  • Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan are reportedly leading the proposed IPO.

Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind Claude, has filed an S-1 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for a proposed initial public offering (IPO) under the ticker symbol ANT.

Market expectations suggest Anthropic’s IPO valuation could surpass SpaceX’s, with the company potentially raising more than $100 billion.

Anthropic Reveals IPO Plans

On October 26, Anthropic filed a registration statement with the SEC to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT.

The filing gives investors a closer look at the company’s finances ahead of its planned IPO. However, Anthropic has not yet disclosed the number of shares it plans to sell or the proposed price range.

The filing also outlines major spending plans. Anthropic expects to spend up to $120.5 billion on computing linked to SpaceXAI and Nvidia, along with up to $114.5 billion with Google through 2033.

These costs show how much money Anthropic needs to build and run advanced AI systems. They could also increase its need for funding if revenue growth slows.

The filing further states that 5% of Anthropic’s shares will go to the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund.

Revenue Surges as Anthropic Reports $80.7B Loss

In its filing, Anthropic reported $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, up sharply from $1.2 billion during the same period last year. The increase shows growing demand for its Claude AI models and related business products.

However, the company also reported a net loss of $80.7 billion for the period. Most of that figure came from a $72.4 billion non-cash accounting charge linked to changes in the value of convertible notes and other financial instruments, rather than its day-to-day business operations.

Its operating loss was considerably smaller at $693 million.

Anthropic’s IPO Could Surpass SpaceX’s Valuation

Reports suggest Anthropic could go public in mid-November, with Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and JPMorgan leading the offering.

The market expects the company could seek a valuation of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion and raise $100 billion, potentially surpassing SpaceX’s recent IPO valuation.

However, the final valuation and IPO date remain unconfirmed.
