Why Are Bitcoin, Ethereum and XRP Prices Falling Today?

Bitcoin dropped below $80,000 on Monday and was trading at $79,863.55, down 1.6% over 24 hours and 3.8% over the past week, according to CoinGecko. Ether fell 2.7% to $2,310.09, XRP lost 2.6% to $1.28 and Solana slipped 2.2% to $100.59. Traders are cutting risk ahead of a heavy week that includes the Federal Reserve’s policy meeting, US PCE inflation data and earnings from about 20% of S&P 500 companies. Price action in recent sessions has repeatedly targeted leveraged retail positions, and the next large cluster of liquidations sits near $78,800. A sharp move toward $76,000 would signal a genuine downtrend. Continued choppy trading would point to another short-lived range that traps buyers on brief rallies.
