Starknet Considers Becoming An L1 To Build A Quantum-Resistant Network By 2027

Starknet said it is actively considering becoming a Layer 1 blockchain, a move that would let it become the first fully quantum-resistant network, with 2027 as the target. Eli Ben-Sasson of Starknet said two threats call for “bunker mode.” The first is quantum computing, which he says may be much closer than expected. The second is AI, which he says is growing more powerful than people can process, and he asked who would bet on how long it takes before AI breaks something currently considered safe. He said a future-proofed chain needs the right cryptography, crypto agility and L1 status.
