Sony Interactive Entertainment has agreed to a $7.85 million settlement affecting over 4 million PlayStation users in the US, resolving a class-action lawsuit filed in 2021. The case, Caccuri v. Sony Interactive Entertainment, alleged Sony reduced competition and drove up prices after halting sales of PlayStation game vouchers through third-party retailers like Amazon and GameStop in 2019. Sony denies any wrongdoing but chose to settle rather than continue litigating. Eligible users could receive compensation directly in their PlayStation Network wallets. The settlement still requires final court approval, expected on October 15, 2026.
