Sam Bankman-Fried Netflix Series ‘The Altruists’: Trailer, Release Date And Cast Revealed

Netflix has released the first trailer for “The Altruists,” a limited series about the collapse of crypto exchange FTX. The show premieres on November 19. Anthony Boyle plays FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, and Julia Garner plays Caroline Ellison, the former head of FTX’s sister trading firm, Alameda Research. Netflix describes the pair as “the love scorned prodigies behind the FTX scandal.” The series follows the rise and fall of FTX, the relationship between Bankman-Fried and Ellison, and the misuse of customer funds that left about $8 billion missing when the exchange collapsed in November 2022. Bankman-Fried was convicted of fraud and conspiracy in 2023 and sentenced to 25 years in prison. Ellison pleaded guilty, testified against him and received a two-year sentence.
