Nvidia And Pony.ai Join inDrive To Launch Robotaxi Tests In Kazakhstan In 2027

Ride-hailing platform inDrive has signed a memorandum of understanding with Chinese self-driving company Pony.ai and Nvidia to trial robotaxis in Kazakhstan. Testing will start in the capital, Astana, in the first half of 2027, inDrive CTO Yuri Misnik told TechCrunch. Early trips will have a safety operator on board, with fully driverless service planned later. Under the proposal, Pony.ai will supply its seventh-generation robotaxis, and inDrive will run them through its app. Nvidia will provide the AI systems, including its Hyperion platform and Halos safety technology. The deal adds to Pony.ai’s international push. Earlier this month, Uber announced plans to test Pony.ai vehicles in London, where it already offers supervised autonomous rides with Wayve.
