Netanyahu Crypto Plan: Israel Prepares For Possible Global Financial Restrictions

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has asked for a blockchain-based plan to help the country’s economy withstand potential international financial sanctions, the Times of Israel reported. In a television interview, Netanyahu warned that Israel could face measures including banking sanctions and must build an economy able to work around them. He referred to currencies that can bypass such restrictions and said he is working on the issue. Netanyahu also said Israel should not expect US military aid to continue at past levels. The remarks come days before Israel’s October 27 election. According to the Jewish People Policy Institute, 64 countries have taken or considered economic, financial or diplomatic measures against Israel. No details of the plan have been released.
