President Donald Trump said CFTC Chair Michael Selig is working to bring Hyperliquid into the U.S. under a fully compliant legal framework. The comments were made at a White House crypto event on August 19. This matters because Hyperliquid is a major platform for perpetual futures, but it currently does not serve U.S. users. A regulated U.S. pathway could give the platform access to the American derivatives market. The CFTC will need to determine how Hyperliquid can meet U.S. rules. Selig is expected to provide more details at the CFTC’s Innovation Advisory Committee meeting.
