COIN stock isn’t reacting much to Coinbase’s latest expansion, and that’s becoming harder to ignore. Coinbase has partnered with Moov to provide more than 1,000 small and community banks with technology for stablecoin payments, settlement, and instant funding.
The integration is designed to fit into the existing technology stack of these organizations rather than forcing them to build an entirely separate system. Coinbase says the rollout also makes stablecoin integration into bank balance sheets easier.
That’s not the only announcement. Coinbase Developer Platform said Coinbase for Agents is now available on Grok, allowing users to connect their Coinbase accounts and ask Grok to trade, analyze, and automate financial workflows without an MCP setup.
Yet COIN stock barely flinched on the daily chart. That’s the awkward part. Coinbase keeps adding functionality, but investors aren’t immediately rewarding those announcements.
Coinbase currently has a market capitalization of about $45.46 billion. The business remains tied closely to crypto activity, since exchanges facilitate trading across the market. But that also leaves COIN stock exposed when confidence and activity across crypto weaken.
The broader market backdrop hasn’t helped. According to the data, repeated manipulative activity and rug-pull scams damaged investor trust across many altcoins and memecoins, leaving activity subdued over recent months.
That weakness coincided with a major COIN stock decline. After reaching $444 in 2025, the stock eventually fell to around $140 by early 2026.
The earnings pattern is also revealing. COIN stock rose during Q4 2024 despite negative earnings, while investors sold during positive Q1 2025 earnings. Q2 2025 brought another rise, but investors again dumped shares after positive Q3 and Q4 results.
Revenue tells the story. Coinbase revenue fell from $2.97 billion in Q2 2025 to $705 million in Q4 2025, while net income swung from $1.43 billion to a $666 million loss.
Revenue recovered to $1.46 billion in Q1 2026 and $1.16 billion in Q2, but net income remained negative at losses of $394 million and $359 million. Q3 2026 revenue reached $1.22 billion.
Technically, COIN stock advanced to $196 in early September before struggling around the 200-day EMA. The 50-day EMA near $169 is now the dynamic support thats holding it from going lower.
A breakdown could send COIN price back toward the $145 demand area. Conversely, a sustained daily close above the 200-day EMA could shift the bearish trend, with $225 and then $245 becoming the levels to watch.
For now, Coinbase’s stablecoin and agent initiatives add fresh business angles, but COIN stock still needs buyers to prove they care.
