Bitcoin Price Gets A Fresh Treasury Buyback Test

The Bitcoin price could get an interesting liquidity test tomorrow as the U.S. Treasury Department plans to buy back up to $6 billion in longer-term debt. That alone doesn’t guarantee a move higher, but another signal is now flashing from the derivatives side.

The Binance Squeeze Risk Oscillator (SMA-14) has climbed back above +0.80 after finding support around its zero-equilibrium level. In plain English, the short-exhaustion signal has returned after briefly resetting toward neutral.

Bitcoin Price Faces A Potential Short Squeeze

Per the analyst ‘MorenoDV_’ data, the setup matters because renewed short exhaustion can create upside vulnerability. If the Bitcoin price moves higher, short sellers closing positions could add buying pressure and potentially accelerate the advance.

Still, don’t get carried away. The indicator flags the possibility; it doesn’t prove forced covering is already happening.

The oscillator’s rebound also doesn’t establish that leverage has been cleared or that fresh shorts have entered the market. That’s where the next price move matters.

$84K–$87K Range Holds The Immediate Answer

Bitcoin is currently consolidating around the $84K–$87K range. A breakout above that zone, combined with short liquidations and falling open interest, would fit the conditions for a squeeze. What happens afterward is the real test.

Historical episodes shown in the indicator’s chart suggest positive extremes don’t consistently produce lasting gains. So even with the renewed short-exhaustion reading, the setup can still fail if price stays trapped or breaks lower.

Treasury Buyback Meets A Renewed Short Signal

For now, the Treasury buyback and the Binance oscillator offer two separate pieces of the same question: can upside pressure actually build?

The Bitcoin price still needs confirmation from the breakout and the demand behind it. Until then, the squeeze remains a scenario to watch, not a trade already proven.
