Crypto market today is turning higher as Bitcoin, Ethereum and major altcoins regain momentum, putting the broader market back in focus at the start of October. Bitcoin has climbed toward $86,000, while Ethereum and XRP are also advancing as traders position ahead of the U.S. jobs report. Strong September ETF inflows, shifting Federal Reserve rate expectations and easing Treasury yields are supporting the recovery. With Bitcoin nearing a key resistance zone and altcoins following the move, the latest rally is setting up a crucial test for the crypto market’s Q4 direction.
Crypto markets are gaining as traders reposition ahead of the U.S. September jobs report and reassess the Federal Reserve’s rate path. Economists expect payroll growth to slow to roughly 90,000, while unemployment is forecast at 4.1%, making the report critical for October rate expectations.
Treasury yields have also eased from Thursday’s extreme, when the 10-year yield touched 5.34%, although it remains around 5.25%, keeping financial conditions tight.
Institutional demand is another major support. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted about $2.65 billion in September, although the latest session saw $148.7 million of outflows after a nine-session inflow streak.
Derivatives positioning is also recovering. Bitcoin open interest has rebuilt alongside price, while the market enters October after a strong Q3. Bitcoin gained more than 40% during the quarter and Ethereum jumped more than 70%.
The result is a market-wide rebound driven by jobs-report positioning, Fed expectations, institutional flows, easing yields and renewed derivatives activity.
Bitcoin price is pushing back toward the $85,000–$85,500 region after reclaiming the $80,000 area on the latest recovery. The chart structure shows BTC holding above its recent breakout base, with buyers now challenging the upper end of the range. A decisive move through $86,500 would strengthen the recovery and expose $87,500–$90,000 next.
Above $90,000, the larger $95,000–$100,000 supply zone becomes the next major target area. On the downside, $82,000–$80,000 is the key retest zone. BTC briefly moved above $85,500 earlier in the week before slipping toward $83,500, making this resistance especially important for confirmation.
Ethereum is holding around $2,650–$2,700 after recovering above the $2,500 region. The latest chart shows buyers rebuilding momentum from the lower range, but ETH is approaching a major resistance cluster around $2,800–$2,900. A clean breakout above that zone would give the recovery a stronger structure and put $3,000–$3,200 into focus.
The previous breakout area around $2,500–$2,550 now becomes the first major support. ETH’s broader trend also benefits from its strong Q3 performance, with the asset gaining more than 70% during the quarter. Institutional ETF flows remain an additional catalyst as October begins.
XRP price is holding around $1.48–$1.50 after recovering from its lower demand zone and reclaiming the middle of its recent range. Buyers defended the $1.37–$1.46 support band, but the next major hurdle sits directly overhead at $1.60–$1.70.
A decisive breakout above $1.70 would strengthen the recovery structure and open $1.80–$1.90, followed by the larger $2.10–$2.20 supply zone. Until that breakout occurs, XRP remains inside a broader consolidation. A move below $1.46 would weaken the current setup and shift attention back toward the $1.30 area.
The Crypto market recovery is being shaped by macro positioning, institutional flows and improving derivatives activity, with the U.S. jobs report now the immediate catalyst. Bitcoin remains the market’s main signal. A sustained breakout through $85,500–$90,000 would give Ethereum and major altcoins more room to extend their recoveries. ETH needs to clear $2,800–$2,900, while XRP faces the $1.60–$1.70 supply zone.
The jobs data could determine whether the current rebound develops into a broader Q4 move or remains another range-bound recovery.
