VeChain Price Surges as VET Breaks 2026 Downtrend: $0.01 in Sight?

VeChain price has delivered one of its strongest move of the year, with VET climbing more than 12% to around $0.00655 after breaking above the descending trendline that had defined its 2026 downtrend. The move follows months of compressed trading between $0.0050 and $0.0055, where repeated attempts to recover were absorbed by sellers. Now, VET is trading above its accumulation range with expanding participation across derivatives markets, shifting the focus from short-term recovery toward whether the token can sustain a broader trend reversal.

Derivatives Market Shows Fresh Capital Entering VET

VeChain price rally is being reinforced by a meaningful surge in derivatives activity rather than a spot-led spike alone. VET’s 24-hour futures volume has climbed 196.52% to $55.48 million, while open interest has risen 28.53% to $37.60 million, indicating that traders are adding new positions as price moves higher.

The recovery has also been swift. VET traded near $0.0044 in mid-August before reclaiming the $0.0065 area, underscoring how quickly sentiment has shifted after weeks of sideways trading.

VeChain’s Upgrade Roadmap Adds a Fundamental Backdrop

VET price breakout is unfolding alongside VeChain’s broader network roadmap, which has recently shifted toward improving Ethereum compatibility through its Interstellar phase. The proposed VIP-255 upgrade is designed to incorporate execution-layer improvements inspired by Ethereum’s Cancun, Prague and Osaka upgrades, expanding developer tooling and improving compatibility with EVM-based applications.

While the roadmap is not a direct catalyst for today’s rally, it provides a stronger fundamental backdrop than a purely momentum-driven move. VeChain has increasingly positioned its infrastructure around enterprise applications, cross-chain connectivity and AI-focused development, giving the project a clearer long-term narrative as market participation returns.

VET Price Analysis: $0.007 Could Decide the Next Leg

VET price broke above the descending trendline after spending months building a base around $0.0050-$0.0055. VET token has already reclaimed the $0.0062 breakout level, while volume has expanded sharply as buyers pushed into resistance. The next barrier sits around $0.007, where long-term trendline resistance and overhead supply begin to converge. A daily close above that level would confirm the breakout and expose $0.0085, followed by the broader $0.009-$0.010 resistance zone that capped earlier recovery attempts.

Momentum has accelerated quickly, with the daily RSI approaching 78, suggesting buyers have pushed VET into overbought territory. During breakout phases, elevated RSI can persist for longer than expected, but traders will be watching whether any pullback holds above $0.0060-$0.0062. If that former resistance flips into support, the breakout structure remains intact. A move back below the base, however, would weaken the current reversal thesis.

Final Outlook

VET has moved beyond the consolidation that defined much of its 2026 trading, but confirmation now matters more than the initial breakout. Holding above $0.0060-$0.0062 would preserve the recovery structure, while a decisive move through $0.007 would strengthen the case for an advance toward $0.009 and potentially $0.01.

The sharp increase in futures participation suggests the market is beginning to price in a trend change rather than another short-lived bounce. If buyers can convert the breakout into support, $0.01 becomes a technical target with a stronger foundation than at any point this year.
