Solana price is holding above the $100 mark after a powerful breakout pushed SOL toward $111, putting the $120 level back in focus. The move came after SOL cleared a multi-month resistance zone around $103-$106, with volume expanding sharply during the breakout. Now, the pullback toward $102 is testing whether bulls can turn that former ceiling into fresh support. With SOL ending August with its first monthly gain in 10 months and Solana’s DEX ecosystem maintaining strong trading activity, the setup is shifting from recovery to potential breakout continuation.
The latest market narrative highlighted two developments that strengthen the case behind Solana’s improving setup. First, Solana’s DEX ecosystem has continued to rank among the largest spot-trading venues in the crypto market, maintaining second place behind Binance in weekly spot volume for nine consecutive weeks. That reflects the scale of trading activity taking place across Solana-based decentralized markets.
Second, the broader narrative around Solana is shifting toward ecosystem monetization. As network usage, trading activity and liquidity remain elevated, the market is increasingly looking beyond SOL’s price performance and toward the economic activity being generated across the network. That backdrop becomes particularly relevant when paired with the latest technical breakout.
SOL is currently hovering around the $102-$103 area, placing it directly on the key breakout-retest zone. The technical structure remains constructive as long as the price holds above $100-$103. This region previously acted as resistance, so turning it into support would provide an important confirmation that buyers have successfully changed the market structure. The first upside hurdle sits around $105, followed by the recent $110-$112 high.
A decisive daily close above $112 would strengthen the bullish continuation setup and expose SOL to $115, followed by the larger $120 psychological resistance. Beyond $120, the next major resistance zone appears around $125-$130. However, the bullish setup is conditional. A sustained move below $100 would weaken the breakout and raise the possibility of SOL slipping back toward $94-$90. In short, $100-$103 is the defense zone, $105 is the first reclaim level, and $112 is the breakout trigger for a potential move toward $120.
The setup is becoming increasingly constructive, but confirmation remains essential. SOL needs to hold the $100-$103 breakout zone, reclaim $105 and then clear $112 with convincing momentum. If that sequence plays out, the $120 target becomes a realistic technical objective rather than merely a psychological milestone.
The broader ecosystem narrative strengthens the setup further. Persistent DEX activity and rising network participation suggest that Solana continues to attract meaningful on-chain demand while its price structure improves. Still, traders should watch the downside closely. A break below $100 would undermine the breakout and could send SOL back into its previous consolidation range.
