3 Stocks Investors Are Buying That Could Double From Here

Investors are increasingly searching for stocks that could double as the AI spending cycle expands across semiconductors, memory and data-center infrastructure. Nvidia, Applied Digital and Micron are drawing strong investor attention because each offers a different way to benefit from rising AI demand. While NVDA provides scale and earnings strength, APLD and MU offer more aggressive upside potential. The key is whether their growth can continue to justify the expectations already priced into these stocks.

Nvidia (NVDA): The AI Leader Still Has Room to Run

Nvidia remains the strongest company in this group, but its setup has changed from an early-stage AI trade into a massive earnings-growth story. NVDA stock price closed at $237.47 on October 7, near its $243.37 52-week high. The stock has attracted enormous trading activity, with more than 81.7 million shares changing hands in the latest session. Its forward P/E is around 19.6, while analysts maintain a Strong Buy consensus and an average target of $328.72.

The fundamental case remains powerful. Nvidia generated about $96 billion in quarterly revenue, up 106% year over year, with data-center revenue reaching roughly $89 billion. Analysts continue raising estimates as hyperscalers expand AI infrastructure spending. Needham, for example, lifted its quarterly revenue estimate to $109 billion.

Nvidia has also expanded its share-repurchase authorization to $235 billion through 2028, giving investors another source of potential earnings-per-share support. The company is approaching a roughly $6 trillion market capitalization, meaning even another doubling would require an extraordinary expansion in earnings and valuation.

That makes NVDA different from the other two names. Nvidia can continue delivering substantial upside, but a 100% gain is not the base-case analyst target. The stock is better viewed as the quality AI leader, while APLD and MU offer more direct doubling potential.

Applied Digital (APLD): The AI Data-Center Stock Investors Are Watching

Applied Digital has become one of the more aggressive ways to invest in the buildout of AI infrastructure. The stock closed at $23.81 on October 7, falling 6.04% after earnings, but moved back above $24 in premarket trading on October 8. Trading volume reached nearly 48.8 million shares, showing how quickly investor attention can shift around the company.

The earnings growth is the main reason investors remain interested. Applied Digital reported $341.9 million in revenue, up roughly 322% year over year and well above expectations. The company is expanding its data-center footprint to serve high-performance computing and AI customers, although losses remain substantial.

The upside case is unusually large. Fifteen analysts tracked by S&P Global give APLD a Strong Buy consensus with an average price target of $64.57, representing roughly 171% potential upside from the October 7 close. The highest target reaches $93.

3. Micron (MU): The AI Memory Boom Could Keep Driving MU Higher

Micron is benefiting from a different part of the AI infrastructure cycle: memory. MU stock closed at $1,088 on October 7, gaining 4.06% during the session. The stock has already surged roughly 444% over the past year, yet its forward P/E remains near 6.2 because earnings expectations have risen so rapidly. The average analyst target is around $1,555, while the highest target has moved dramatically higher.

The biggest catalyst is the tightening supply-demand balance in memory. AI accelerators require increasing amounts of high-bandwidth memory, and industry demand is expected to remain above supply through 2027 and 2028. That view became even more bullish this week after D.A. Davidson analyst Gil Luria raised his Micron price target from $2,100 to $3,000. That is currently one of the most aggressive targets on Wall Street and implies potential upside of more than 175% from the latest close.

Which of These Stocks Could Double?

For investors searching for stocks that could double, the three names offer very different risk-reward profiles.

Nvidia is the strongest business and the most established AI winner, but a 100% gain would require another major expansion in earnings or valuation. Applied Digital has the highest speculative upside, with its current analyst target already implying a potential doubling. Micron combines explosive earnings growth with a structural AI memory shortage, giving it a credible long-term path toward the most aggressive price targets.

The opportunity is significant, but so are the expectations. APLD offers the highest upside potential, MU offers the strongest cyclical AI-memory setup, while NVDA remains the highest-quality AI investment.
