ZachXBT Names Teen Behind $19 Million Crypto Theft Who Flaunted It On Instagram

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT has publicly linked 18-year-old US citizen Dritan Kapllani Jr. to nearly $19 million in alleged social engineering thefts targeting cryptocurrency holders.

ZachXBT posted his findings on X, accusing Kapllani of stealing the funds and openly displaying the proceeds on social media through luxury cars, Rolex watches, private jets, and cash. He noted that Kapllani was recently recorded on a call showing a wallet containing what ZachXBT described as stolen funds.

“Dritan flexes luxury cars, watches, private jets, & clubs all over social media. Recently, he was recorded on a call showing off a wallet with stolen funds,” ZachXBT wrote.

The Discord Flex That Allegedly Blew Everything Open

One of the wildest parts of the investigation centers around a “band for band” (B4B) Discord call on April 23, where Kapllani allegedly screen-shared an Exodus wallet holding millions in crypto to flex on another threat actor.

According to ZachXBT, the wallet displayed around $3.68 million and was later traced back to funds connected to a massive 185 BTC theft from March 2026.

Investigators claim the wallet received roughly $5.3 million shortly after the attack before funds were allegedly moved through multiple wallets, bridges, and exchange deposits to hide the trail.

Federal Case Expands as More Names Surface

The situation escalated after federal prosecutors unsealed a criminal complaint against Trenton Johnson, who now faces up to 40 years in prison over the 185 BTC theft. Court filings reportedly identify Kapllani as “Co-Conspirator 1,” though he has not yet been formally charged.

ZachXBT also connected another wallet allegedly tied to Kapllani to at least $5.85 million in separate social engineering thefts from 2025, pushing total exposure near $19 million.

Meanwhile, meme coin KOL yelotree was also reportedly charged for allegedly helping launder stolen funds through a Miami rental car business.

Flashy Lifestyle, Permanent Blockchain Trail

Investigators say the attacks relied more on manipulation than technical hacking, including fake support requests, phishing schemes, impersonation tactics, and wallet scams.

The case quickly drew comparisons to previous crypto crime figures like John Daghita, whose own online bragging previously helped expose another major theft network.

As of now, Kapllani has not given any official statement, nor have there been any arrests or formal charges framed against him. However, the public outrage may instigate an investigation in the future.
