In a recent video that has been widely shared, Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, openly expressed his criticism of XRP. He stated that he believes XRP is still completely centralized.

During a discussion about the criteria for crypto projects’ participation in the industry, Buterin mentioned that not every project is required to follow decentralization principles. He gave examples such as IOTA and XRP to support his argument.

When discussing the centralization of XRP, Buterin raised concerns about whether IOTA had made any advancements in removing its coordinator. He pointed out that similar to XRP, IOTA still remains a fully centralized system.

It is worth noting that, despite being a centralized digital currency, XRP continues to be listed as a cryptocurrency on CoinMarketCap.

Ethereum Co-Founder Addresses XRP’s Claims of Bitcoin and Ethereum Being China-Controlled

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, has responded to XRP’s recent allegations that both Bitcoin and Ethereum are controlled by Chinese entities.

During a video interview, Buterin pointed out that XRP had not rescinded its communication with the US government, where it appeared to request special treatment in comparison to Bitcoin and Ethereum.

In his statement, Buterin claimed that XRP had informed authorities that Bitcoin and Ethereum were susceptible to the influence of the Chinese.

Buterin stated, “I believe that [XRP] has not issued an apology for advocating the US government that they should prioritize it over Bitcoin and Ethereum due to their alleged Chinese control.”

XRP Community’s Response to Buterin’s Remarks

Buterin’s remarks about XRP’s assertions of Chinese control over Bitcoin and Ethereum have sparked responses from supporters of XRP.

One of the prominent  XRP advocates, known as Riz.XRP shared the video and expressed concerns about the potential impact of these remarks on not just Bitcoin and Ethereum, but also other crypto projects including XRP.

Certain members of the XRP community have seized upon opportunities to highlight instances where they perceive Ethereum (ETH) as exhibiting more centralization compared to XRP.

Another community member raised concerns about the possible legal repercussions of Buterin’s involvement in the Hinman saga. It is worth mentioning that in the past, XRP enthusiasts have criticized Buterin for his negative remarks about XRP and Ripple.
