  • Google Pay and Apple Pay plots high registration statics as a result of this feature.

Buying Crypto Has More Options Now!

The crypto market has seen a downfall recently. In this phase, the companies are working very hard to encourage the user to buy currencies. Coinbase had launched a Visa card for UK users in 2019. With this, it became the first company that enabled the user to make mobile payments with cryptocurrencies. And now buying crypto is much easier by a tap on your phone.

Coinbase, a Visa Principal member launched Google Pay as a payment gateway. In another announcement by Opera, a popular internet browser partnered up with Wyre, a payment firm. Opera provides this feature in all the 3 browsers, IOS opera touch, Android and the desktop browser.

Why Was This Step Required!

As we very well know, the crypto market nowadays, visualized a decline. And for the reason, users were very keen on buying cryptocurrencies due to a fall in the value. The interest had shifted to crypto from gold. As per the data from google, ‘Buy Bitcoin’ had more searches the most than, ‘Buy Gold’.

In this scenario, it was most important to provide ease of access to the users to increase the volume of trade. Hence Coinbase in April 2019, announced of becoming a Visa Principal Member and rolled out its Card. This card is as good as a Credit/Debit Card to carry out purchases with cryptocurrencies.

Points to Be Noted!

Coinbase cardholders can purchase everyday goods and services up to $12,100 per day with cryptocurrencies held up in their wallets. The currencies are instantly exchanged into the relevant fiat currency. On the other hand, Wyre will charge a fee of $0.30 and 2.9%per transactions.

Coinbase is currently operated only in the UK and European countries like Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, Slovakia and a few more but not in the US. The expansion plans are already being set and will work on it throughout this year.

Final Thoughts

Coinbase and Opera have provided a good platform for the ease of the user by providing online and peer-to-peer payments. The popular, second-most widely used digital wallet Google pay is expected to expand to 100 Million user base by 2020. Whereas Apple Pay already has 220 Million User base worldwide.
