SEC Delays Tokenization Exemption as CLARITY Act Talks Take Priority

The SEC has reportedly delayed its planned tokenization innovation exemption, with details unlikely to be released soon. The delay may be linked to ongoing negotiations over Section 10505 of the CLARITY Act, which covers tokenized securities. Sources cited in the report said moving ahead with the exemption could interfere with the compromises being negotiated around the legislation. The SEC has also cancelled its August 14 open meeting, according to its official website.
