The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. (DTCC) has launched a pilot program to test the tokenization of U.S. stocks and Treasury securities, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The trial involves 40 financial institutions, including JPMorgan, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs and Vanguard, and will evaluate the settlement and custody of tokenized assets on a shared blockchain ledger. The project could modernize market infrastructure and help expand the use of blockchain technology in traditional financial markets.
