Coinbase Launches SEC-Registered AI Investment Advisor

Coinbase unveiled two AI-powered finance tools at its System Update event on June 16, 2026. Coinbase Advisor, available to U.S. Coinbase One subscribers, provides 24/7 investment guidance, tax strategies, and trade ideas using a user’s full account history. It is registered with the SEC, CFTC, and NFA, and requires user approval before taking action. Coinbase also launched Coinbase for Agents, allowing third-party AI systems to trade and make payments within user-defined limits. The company plans to expand AI-driven financial automation through its “agentic finance” platform.
