Hyperliquid (HYPE) price rallied over 8% on October 29 after Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, announced a partnership with Trade.xyz to develop a U.S. perpetual futures market on Hyperliquid. The planned platform would expand access to derivatives linked to traditional financial assets. HYPE climbed above $86 as traders reacted to the announcement, while the proposed market could give Hyperliquid a new route into U.S. financial markets.
ICE is partnering with Trade.xyz to develop a U.S. perpetual futures market on Hyperliquid and is taking a stake in Trade.xyz. The financial terms have not been disclosed. The proposed platform would offer perpetual contracts linked to stocks, equity indexes, commodities and currencies. It would include dedicated clearing, customer-verification and anti-money-laundering systems, with the launch subject to regulatory approval.
Perpetual futures allow traders to maintain positions without a fixed expiration date. The proposed U.S. market would extend Hyperliquid’s reach beyond crypto assets and create a potential channel for trading traditional financial instruments on blockchain-based infrastructure.
HYPE price climbed to approximately $86.30 after breaking above the $82–$84 resistance zone on the hourly chart. The move followed repeated attempts to clear resistance near $83 and came with a sharp increase in trading volume. The first upside target is $88, followed by $90 if buying pressure continues. Holding above $84 could establish the former resistance zone as support and strengthen the short-term bullish outlook.
On the downside, a move below $84 could signal weakening momentum. A break below $82 would put the breakout at risk, with the $79–$80 area emerging as the next support zone.
The ICE partnership gives Hyperliquid a potential route into traditional financial derivatives, but the longer-term impact depends on execution. Regulatory clearance, the launch timeline and actual trading demand will determine whether the proposed market becomes a meaningful source of activity.
Competition is another factor. Centralized exchanges are expanding their derivatives offerings, while decentralized platforms are competing for liquidity and traders. Hyperliquid will need to attract sustained activity to convert the announcement into lasting business growth.
Beyond the initial price reaction, the market’s launch and its ability to attract sustained trading volume will determine the partnership’s longer-term significance.
