The Chainlink (LINK) price has finally broken out of the consolidation structure that had been developing since June. After recovering from lows near $7, LINK pushed above the $9.04 resistance and is now trading around $9.45, marking a clear shift in its short-term technical structure. The breakout also comes as on-chain activity among large holders increases. The next challenge is whether LINK can sustain the move rather than simply spike above resistance.
With the $9.97 level now acting as the next major hurdle and momentum indicators strengthening, the focus shifts to whether buyers can push LINK toward $10 and beyond.
The latest daily chart shows LINK breaking cleanly above the $9.04 upper trendline of the previous rising structure. The breakout candle pushed the price as high as $9.73, with LINK currently around $9.46, indicating that buyers have managed to move beyond the previous resistance zone rather than being rejected at it.
CMF is at 0.18, showing positive money flow, while the RSI has climbed to 71.40, reflecting strong bullish momentum. However, the RSI has now moved above the 70 level, meaning the rally is becoming stretched in the short term and could see some consolidation or profit-taking. The combination of a confirmed technical breakout, positive money flow and increased whale activity makes the setup bullish, but holding above $9.04 will be important for confirming that the breakout is sustainable.
Santiment data shows 246 whale transactions worth more than $100,000, the highest level seen since March. At the same time, wallets holding between 100,000 and 10 million LINK now control 46.57% of the token’s total supply, equivalent to roughly 466.31 million LINK. The increase in large-holder activity suggests that bigger market participants are becoming increasingly active as LINK’s price recovers.
Whale activity has picked up as LINK moved toward and then broke above the $9.04 resistance, rather than during the earlier stages of the decline. Combined with the technical breakout and positive money flow, the data provides a stronger backdrop for LINK’s move toward the $9.97 and $10 levels.
Chainlink (LINK) price has moved from consolidation to breakout, with price now above the $9.04 resistance and momentum supported by positive CMF and increased whale activity. The next test is $9.97, followed by the psychological $10 level and potentially $10.80 if buying pressure remains strong. However, with RSI already above 70, a short-term pullback or consolidation cannot be ruled out. As long as LINK holds above $9.04, the breakout remains constructive; a sustained move back below that level would raise questions about whether the breakout was a false move.
