ATOM price is closing in on a key resistance zone after recovering from its recent lows. The rebound has created a tightening structure on the daily chart, with higher lows meeting a descending resistance trendline to form a symmetrical triangle. ATOM is now trading close to the pattern’s upper boundary, putting bulls within striking distance of a potential breakout. A move through $1.90 could shift the short-term structure decisively higher, while another rejection would leave the token searching for support before its next attempt.
Cosmos Hub has moved another step forward in its efforts to recover funds connected to the Neutron governance attack. A new governance proposal seeks to authorize the Cosmos Hub multisig holding 1,227,121 recovered ATOM to transfer the tokens to the Neutron Recovery multisig. The move follows the September attack in which approximately 1.723 million ATOM was drained from three Neutron contracts.
The recovered tokens were secured after Cosmos Hub validators halted the network when the stolen ATOM reached a Hub address. The chain was subsequently restarted with a state change that moved the remaining balance into a 4-of-6 recovery multisig. The proposal would allow the multisig signers to transfer the recovered balance, after network fees, through IBC to the Neutron recovery multisig. The next stage of the process would then be handled through Neutron governance to return recovered funds to the affected contracts.
The development comes as ATOM attempts to reclaim higher levels, giving the market a fresh ecosystem catalyst while the token approaches a major technical resistance.
The ATOM price structure is tightening around a key level. After falling toward the $1.30–$1.40 area, ATOM began forming higher lows, with the August recovery establishing the rising side of the pattern. At the same time, successive recovery attempts have faced lower highs, creating a descending upper trendline.
ATOM price is now trading around $1.80–$1.81, close to that upper boundary. The first resistance sits around $1.84–$1.86, while $1.90–$1.95 represents the more important breakout area. A decisive daily close above the upper trendline would strengthen the bullish setup and bring $2.00 into focus. The $2 level also sits near the next major resistance region, meaning bulls would need sustained buying pressure to turn the breakout into a broader recovery rather than another failed move.
On the downside, the immediate area to defend is $1.75–$1.80. Losing this zone would weaken the current structure and could push ATOM back toward the lower trendline, with the $1.60–$1.65 region becoming relevant on a deeper pullback.
ATOM’s broader outlook is improving as its technical structure strengthens and Cosmos advances key recovery and governance initiatives. Successful resolution of the Neutron incident, stronger ecosystem activity and progress on tokenomics could improve investor confidence. If these developments align with sustained buying momentum, ATOM could transition from a recovery phase into a broader trend reversal.
