XRP is entering October after three consecutive months of gains, raising questions about whether the cryptocurrency can extend its recovery or face a correction based on previous market patterns.
XRP gained 2.10% in July and 29.94% in August. September was also on track to close higher, with the monthly gain estimated at between 6% and 10%.
Historical data shows that XRP price has previously declined after recording three consecutive monthly gains.
XRP has recorded four earlier periods of three consecutive green monthly candles. In each case, the following month ended lower.
The declines were approximately 40% in 2014, 39% in 2017, 18% in 2023 and 29.3% during the 2024-25 period.
The three months following those declines were also negative in three of the four instances. XRP fell 66% in 2014, 26% in 2017 and 27.8% in 2025. The exception came in 2023, when XRP gained about 2%.
However, the current setup is different from several of those earlier periods. The previous rallies were followed by much larger monthly price increases, while XRP’s gains in July and August 2026 have been more moderate.
This makes it unclear whether the current three-month advance represents a pause before a correction or the beginning of a larger price move.
XRP exchange-traded funds have also recorded continued inflows in recent weeks.
As per the Data 14 positive weeks out of the past 15, with weekly inflows including approximately $3.96 million, $75 million, $9.56 million and $18.98 million.
The continued inflows indicate ongoing demand for XRP investment products. Whether that demand can offset a potential seasonal or technical correction remains to be seen.
Large XRP holders have also increased their holdings. whales accumulated nearly 500 million XRP over five days around September 24.
While such accumulation can indicate increased buying activity, it does not by itself establish the direction of XRP’s price.
Several major industry events are scheduled for the coming weeks, including Korea Blockchain Week, XRP Seoul 2026, Token2049, Money20/20 and Ripple Swell.
Ripple Swell is likely to receive particular attention from XRP investors because announcements involving partnerships or business developments could affect market sentiment.
XRP Price has recently traded around the $1.50 level, while $1.58 has been identified as an important level to monitor.
A move above $1.70 could strengthen the current upward trend and put the $2 level in focus. On the other hand, a decline below key support levels could increase the risk of a pullback.
Short-term technical analysis also points to an overbought reading, suggesting that XRP could see increased volatility before its next major move.
