XRP Price Could Fall 40% as ETF Inflows Drop to $1.01M

XRP price is under pressure as institutional demand appears to weaken, even while Bitcoin and Ethereum are attracting stronger ETF inflows. Weekly XRP ETF inflows reportedly plunged 93% to just $1.01 million, down from $14.86 million a week earlier. Total XRP ETF net assets also slipped to about $964 million from $988 million, making XRP the weakest performer among major crypto ETFs.

The contrast with Bitcoin and Ethereum is clear:

  • Bitcoin ETFs: $754 million inflow after a $61.53 million outflow, an $816 million weekly turnaround.
  • Ethereum ETFs: around $195 million inflow, almost seven times the previous $27 million.

The weekly XRP figure also hides a midweek recovery. ETF flows fell to -$3.58 million on August 5, before turning positive at $3.45 million on August 6.

For investors who sold XRP around the $2–$3 range, however, the decline could be viewed as a potential opportunity to accumulate at lower prices.

Whales Buy While Grayscale Adds Selling Pressure

On-chain data shows large XRP wallets holding roughly 100 million to 1 billion tokens increased their supply share from 10.6% to 11.99%. Smaller whales holding 10 million to 100 million XRP also sold earlier before turning back to buying on August 6.

Grayscale’s XRP Trust added another source of selling pressure. Its SEC Form 10-Q showed 103.41 million XRP, worth about $180.78 million, in net outflows during the first half of 2026. CoinGlass also recorded $9.48 million in XRP liquidations, with almost 98% coming from long positions.

Technically, How Low Can XRP Go?

Crypto analyst Crypto Patel says his bearish XRP call from July 2025 has largely played out, with XRP down 72% from its cycle peak. He now expects another 20%–40% downside and sees $0.85–$0.65 as a potential long-term accumulation zone. Rather than trying to predict the exact bottom, he plans to scale into XRP gradually, with long-term targets of $3, $5, $7 and $10+.

Overall, Patel remains bearish in the short term but bullish on XRP’s long-term potential.

Another analyst ChartNerd says XRP first needs to reclaim $1.05-$1.06, which has now turned from support into resistance, before a meaningful relief move can develop. Looking at the current scenario, he expects XRP to enter a long accumulation phase after the current bear market, potentially setting the stage for a major price repricing over the coming years.

Meanwhile, XRP Price went up by 0.64% to $1.03 in the last 24 hours, slightly behind Bitcoin’s 1.04% gain.
