Why Is Crypto.com Giving Away $250K in SHIB Right Now?

CRO stakers have a shot at some BIG rewards!

Yes, you read that right. Crypto.com has kicked off a new airdrop campaign with $250,000 in Shiba Inu (SHIB) rewards up for grabs. The catch? Users need to stake CRO, the exchange’s native token, in its Airdrop Arena to qualify.

The event runs from July 5 to August 4, 2025, and it’s already drawing attention – obviously because of the prize pool, but also because of what’s happening behind the scenes at Shiba Inu.

Here’s How It Works

Participants who stake CRO will earn points, and the more they stake, the higher their ranking. At the end of the event, the top-ranking users will split the $250,000 SHIB pool.

Early birds get an edge. Crypto.com is offering a 120% point boost to the first 10,000 users who allocate CRO to the campaign. Another 120% boost goes to anyone who locks in at least 1,500 CRO.

Crypto.com confirmed this in a tweet:

Rewards will be distributed seven days after the event ends, but only to users who opt in via the Loot Locker.

Why Should You Care?

Crypto.com has supported the Shiba Inu ecosystem for years. It listed SHIB back in May 2021, and added Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) in March 2023. The exchange also holds a large amount of SHIB in reserve something not many other platforms can say.

CEO Kris Marszalek has openly praised the Shiba Army, the meme coin’s loyal community, which has helped boost visibility and demand around the listings. This new airdrop feels like a continuation of that long-term bet.

All eyes on ‘JUL-AI’

While Crypto.com handles the rewards, the Shiba Inu team is focused on what’s coming next. Project lead Shytoshi Kusama has renamed July as “JUL-AI,” suggesting the ecosystem is preparing for a wave of AI-powered developments.

“July is JUL-AI,” Kusama said, hinting at upcoming announcements, product launches, and a new phase for the project. He also teased a possible whitepaper release and pointed to a new partnership with AI gaming platform TokenPlayAI.

In a recent video update, Kusama shared that the team has been building quietly since January. The clip also referred to a 12-day pause in June, alluding to the geopolitical tension between Israel and Iran, before declaring that it’s finally time for JUL-AI to begin.
