As the SEC vs Ripple case seems to go on for much longer than expected, defense lawyer, James K. Filan shares another update.
As per the latest update, Judge Torres has partly approved the parties requests to keep the documents secret that is related to amici Motion participating in the Daubert events. The said modifications are supposed to be submitted by July 15, 2022.
The said update comes after the Ripple defendants claimed that the SEC had taken utmost stance in terms of expert reports. The recent letter was addressed to Judge Analisa Torres which said the accuser is making an effort to hush the criticism.
As per Ripple, the SEC requested that Ripple’s challenges against the three SEC experts should be filed undisclosed. Furthermore, the Judge’s decision towards the 4th expert, Patrick B Doddy, is still pending.
An attorney, Jeremy Hogan claims that the Judge Torres’s decision in terms of parties’ request to seal the documents was a positive outlook because with this most of the citizens will know experts’ opinions.
The fourth expert, Patrick Doody’s involvement in the SEC vs Ripple case when the court said that XRP holders can act as amicus or adviser to the court.
The SEC has claimed in recent legal papers that making the expert’s opinions known might harm the context and engage in further harassment and bullying.
Accordingly, we will have to wait and watch how proceedings will head further after July 15, 2022.
