Ripple [XRP] News Roundup: $2 Billion Whale Buy Meets a Make-Or-Break Resistance Wall

Someone with deep pockets just moved $2 billion into XRP in under a week, and it happened right as short sellers started stepping back. Whether that momentum survives contact with a resistance zone that’s rejected XRP multiple times before is the question now hanging over the token.

Big Money Is Buying In

Large wallets bought up around 1.54 billion XRP in just four days, worth close to $2.2 billion. Traders say this kind of fast buying spree often comes right before a big price move. Around the same time, a trader shorting XRP on Hyperliquid started backing out, buying back 450,000 XRP and cutting their bet against the token nearly in half.

Fund Managers Keep Buying Even While Price Is Soft

CoinShares told the SEC in a new filing that they now hold 148.66 million XRP, up from 129.75 million back in December. They kept buying even as price cooled off recently. Franklin Templeton’s clients also picked up about $1.5 million worth of XRP.

A Leveraged ETF Gets Delayed, Not Cancelled

Volatility Shares pushed back the launch of their 3x leveraged XRP ETF to October 18. The paperwork is still active, so this is just a delay, not the product getting scrapped.

South Korea Can’t Get Enough XRP

On Upbit, one of South Korea’s biggest exchanges, XRP is now the single most traded coin, with $183.8 million traded in a single day. That’s more than 10% of everything traded on the exchange, and more than double what Bitcoin sees there.

Government Debt Now Settles On XRP’s Blockchain

Ondo Finance launched OUSG, its tokenized US Treasury fund, directly on the XRP Ledger. It uses Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin to handle deposits and withdrawals. This means government debt is now settling on XRP’s network for the first time, running alongside how it’s normally done.

A Small But Important Update Is Almost Approved

A proposal called Permission Delegation, which lets XRP accounts give out limited access instead of full control, picked up 15 new yes votes in just 10 days. It’s now just 3 votes away from getting approved. Wormhole is getting limited access to Ripple’s RLUSD account so other projects like Flare can plug in and offer more to XRP holders, while compliance teams at companies get the restricted access they’ve been asking for.

An Independent Check Confirms XRP Is Eco-Friendly

An outside energy audit through exchange Bitvavo confirmed XRP remains one of the most energy-efficient cryptocurrencies out there, using a tiny 0.00002 kWh per transaction with basically zero direct emissions.

Price Level That Decides What Happens Next

All this good news runs into a wall between $1.49 and $1.54, a zone that’s turned XRP back more than once already. If XRP can break through, close above it, and hold there, that opens the door to more upside. If it gets rejected again, expect more sideways chop, with $1.30, $1.20, and $1.10 as the next levels to watch on the way down.
