Ripple News: Ripple Prime Enters Equity Derivatives With New “Delta One Business”

Ripple’s institutional prime brokerage arm, Ripple Prime, has officially launched its new “Delta One” business. Announced on August 27, 2026, the new service expands Ripple’s business into traditional financial markets, including stock-based derivatives.

The business launches with over $1 billion in regulatory net capital, while also bringing traditional finance and digital assets closer together.

What is Ripple’s Delta One Offering?

Ripple’s new Delta One business is built for institutional clients such as hedge funds, market makers, asset managers, and ETF issuers. It allows them to use Total Return Swaps (TRS) to gain exposure to different assets without directly buying and holding them.

However, the service will support U.S.-listed stocks, major stock indexes, and cryptocurrencies.

With a TRS, institutions can benefit from an asset’s price changes and dividends without owning the actual asset.

This gives large investors another way to manage their market positions while keeping their stocks and crypto exposure under one prime brokerage relationship.

One Platform for Stocks and Crypto

The biggest change is Ripple Prime’s cross-margining system, which brings stock derivatives and crypto exposure under one platform.

Traditionally, institutions may need different firms to manage their stock and crypto positions. Ripple Prime now aims to bring these markets together through one counterparty and one shared margin pool, available 24/7.

Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel said the new service is a natural step for the platform and matches what institutional clients are looking for.

“Clients can now access equities, FX, derivatives, fixed income, and digital asset prime brokerage, clearing, and financing all through a single counterparty.”

Ripple Gets $1B Financial Backing

Ripple Prime is launching the Delta One business with more than $1 billion in regulatory net capital, giving the business a strong financial base as it expands its institutional services.

This funding strength could help Ripple Prime compete with major financial firms while supporting its new Delta One business.

The company has also raised fresh funds to support its growth. Earlier this month, Ripple Prime closed an upsized $275 million private placement of senior unsecured notes, following a $200 million debt facility managed by Neuberger Specialty Finance.

Along with its strong capital position, Ripple Prime says its business will focus only on clearing, execution and financing.
