Pi Network News: New Solana Exchange Listing, But Still No Binance or Coinbase

Pi Network picked up a fresh trading venue this week, giving the token another door into crypto markets even as bigger names keep passing it by.

Crypto exchange SolCex added Pi alongside Ethereum Classic and Canton Network’s token, opening up cross-chain trading access for Solana-based users. One commentator called it a big step forward, adding that pairing Pi with established names like Ethereum Classic gives it fresh exposure to deeper liquidity pools it hasn’t tapped before.

Price Story Right Now

Pi coin now trades near $0.089, still down 97% from its all-time high, near $3, a peak the token hit back in February 2025. Pi hit a fresh low near $0.07 in mid-July before climbing back above $0.09 again, though it’s been rejected each time it approached $0.10. The token briefly slipped below $0.08 late last month before reclaiming that level and pushing above $0.09 on several occasions this August.

What About Binance and Coinbase?

Despite ranking among the top 100 cryptocurrencies by market value and boasting one of the largest communities in the entire crypto space, Pi has yet to land on either of the industry’s two biggest exchanges. The token has already secured spots on OKX, Gate, MEXC, and even Kraken, but Binance and Coinbase remain out of reach for now, a gap several community members describe as increasingly notable given Pi’s size and reach.

A Big Supply Question Looms

About 775.8 million more Pi tokens are set to enter circulation later this year, a figure that’s sparked debate among holders. One commentator argued the real question isn’t the size of that number, but what’s actually absorbing it. If Pi’s growing ecosystem of apps starts generating genuine spending activity by the time those tokens unlock, the added supply becomes far easier to absorb. If usage doesn’t materialize, the math works against the price by default.

Progress Under the Hood

Away from price action, Pi Network’s technical development continues moving forward. Pi Network is inching closer to Protocol 27, with its testnet already running v26, alongside a newly available node update, marking another step in the network’s ongoing upgrade path.
