Michael Saylor’s “We’re ₿ack” Post Sends Strategy Bitcoin Buy Odds to 96%

Michael Saylor’s Strategy, the rebranded MicroStrategy, has hinted that it could be back to buying Bitcoin after a two month pause. The Strategy co-founder posted “We’re Back” alongside the company’s Bitcoin holdings tracker.

This has raised expectations of a new BTC purchase as Strategy is sitting on an unrealized “paper” profit of $2.80 billion in its corporate treasury.

Saylor’s “We’re ₿ack” Post Raises Bitcoin Buy Expectations

On 22 June 2026, Strategy’s last reported Bitcoin purchase ended a run of regular weekly purchases. The company then stayed out of the market for roughly two months.

On Sunday, Saylor shared Strategy’s Bitcoin portfolio tracker on X with the caption “We’re Back.” His Sunday posts have often appeared before Strategy announces a new Bitcoin purchase, so the message quickly drew attention from crypto traders.

The post does not by itself confirm how much Bitcoin Strategy has bought. However, market watchers are expecting the company to provide an update through its next SEC filing.

Even traders on prediction market Polymarket see a strong chance of another Bitcoin purchase. The market shows a 96% probability that Strategy will announce a Bitcoin buy between August 25 and 31, up sharply from around 18% after Michael Saylor’s cryptic post.

Strategy Builds $6.69B Cash Reserve

Strategy now holds $6.69 billion in cash and reserves, giving the company a large buffer as it continues to manage its Bitcoin focused balance sheet. However, Strategy has split the money into two main pools, each with a different purpose.

The larger $5.10 billion reserve is set aside mainly to cover debt payments, interest, and preferred stock dividends. It also helps Strategy support the $100 par value of its STRC preferred shares.

Strategy also holds $1.59 billion in a separate cash pool that gives the company more flexibility. The money could be used for Bitcoin purchases, stock buybacks or debt payments, depending on market conditions.

Bitcoin Price Moves Above Strategy’s Average Cost

The timing of Saylor’s post is also important because Bitcoin has moved back above Strategy’s average purchase price.

BTC is trading near $78,719, putting Strategy’s 840,447-BTC holdings at roughly $66.2 billion based on that price. This leaves the company with an unrealized gain of around $2.8 billion against its reported $63.36 billion purchase cost.

For now, Saylor has not publicly confirmed a new Bitcoin purchase.

If confirmed, the purchase would mark the end of Strategy’s longest buying pause in recent months.
