Is HYPE Price Ready for Another Record? Can It Hit $90 Next?

HYPE price has officially entered price discovery after breaking its previous all-time high of $76.83 in late August. Now trading around $84.12, the token has cleared the level that previously capped it, turning that old ATH into a potential support zone while putting $90.16 in sight.

HYPE Price Clears Its Previous ATH

The breakout looks impressive on the chart, but price discovery comes with a familiar problem: there isn’t much historical resistance above. That can help momentum, sure, but it also makes the next reaction harder to gauge.

If HYPE price keeps climbing, $90.16 becomes the next notable target. The question is whether buyers can maintain enough pressure to push through it or whether traders start taking profits as the token approaches the $90 area. For now, $76.83 is the level bulls don’t want to lose.

Perpetual Volume Shows Market Getting Stretched

Onchain data adds some context. Hyperliquid’s perpetual volume reached $19.4 billion on August 21, roughly 2.2 times its trailing weekday baseline. Spot volume hit $462 million, around 4.1 times its own baseline. Those are serious spikes, but they aren’t records.

The June 5 surge was larger, with $20.2 billion in perpetual volume and $576 million in spot volume. Since January 2025, June 5 ranks sixth and August 21 ranks eighth through August 24. The biggest extreme came on October 10, 2025, when perpetual volume reached $32.7 billion and spot volume hit $1.08 billion.

Volume Alone Can’t Predict HYPE’s Next Move

There’s another wrinkle worth watching. The June volume spike didn’t mark the market bottom. Bitcoin subsequently fell another 4% to $58,562 on June 30, more than three weeks later.

So elevated volume confirms that trading activity is stretched. It doesn’t automatically reveal whether the next major move is higher or lower.

That leaves HYPE price at an interesting crossroads: $76.83 has become the key support after the ATH breakout, while $90.16 is the next upside level. Whether HYPE price can extend price discovery or starts a sell-off near that target will depend on how buyers and sellers react as volume remains elevated.
