HYPE Price Eyes $90 as Whale Buying Meets HIP-3 Upgrade

Published by

Whales keep buying HYPE, and the timing is getting interesting. Lookonchain reported that wallet 0x6436 bought another 430,224 HYPE worth $35.1 million, while a newly created wallet withdrew 94,149 HYPE worth $7.66 million from FalconX. Ted Pillows also reported a $30 million whale purchase. The accumulation is notable, but it’s not proof of a guaranteed rally.

HYPE Whale Buying Keeps Getting Attention

The reported purchases add to the recent interest in HYPE. Wallet 0x6436’s latest acquisition is the largest of the three reported transactions, while the FalconX withdrawal shows another substantial allocation moving into a new wallet.

That’s a lot of money changing hands. Still, the available data doesn’t establish whether these wallets are buying for long-term accumulation, market-making, or another strategy.

HIP-3 Adds A New Option For Perp Markets

The fundamental development is HIP-3, which lets anyone stake 500,000 HYPE and deploy their own perpetual market. Deployers can also attach an on-chain allowlist, allowing a market to require permission to trade.

That distinction matters. The upgrade doesn’t make Hyperliquid permissioned. It adds an option for market deployers to restrict access when needed, while the rest of the platform remains open.

Regulation Meets Permissionless Trading

The timing is worth watching. Bloomberg reported that Hyperliquid Labs is in talks with Kraken’s parent to bring perps to U.S. traders through regulated exchange Bitnomial.

Meanwhile, North Korean hackers reportedly laundered $30 million through Hyperliquid over three weeks. The platform’s permissionless design has drawn regulatory concerns, and HIP-3 offers a way for individual markets to address some of those concerns.

For institutional counterparties and specific jurisdictions, that flexibility could matter. But the available information doesn’t establish whether the reported talks will lead to a launch or how widely HIP-3 will be adopted.

HYPE Price Still Needs More Than Whale Buying

The reported whale purchases and HIP-3 upgrade give HYPE a stronger narrative. They don’t settle the price question.

The latest data supports a cautious view: large reported purchases are meeting a new market-access feature, but whether that translates into sustained demand remains to be seen. HYPE is getting attention for a reason, though. If whale accumulation continues and HIP-3 adoption follows, the HYPE token price could have a stronger case for a rally and $90 may hit sooner.
