Trump Claims 2024 Victory, Polymarket Bettor Eyes Massive $11M Profit

Republican candidate Donald Trump has won the U.S. presidential election, securing a sweeping victory over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris. Trump amassed at least 270 electoral votes, surpassing the threshold needed to clinch the presidency. Reports indicate that Trump dominated in nearly all swing states, making his path to victory decisive.

Here’s everything you need to know!

Polymarket Bettors Stand to Gain Big on Trump’s Win

A recent post by Lookonchain on X (formerly Twitter) reveals that the biggest Trump supporter on Polymarket, a crypto prediction platform, is sitting on an unrealized profit of $3.4 million. If Trump’s victory holds, this bettor’s profit could rise to more than $11 million.

To win the U.S. presidency, a candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes. With 248 electoral votes already secured and Harris at 214, Trump is well ahead. He is also leading in several crucial swing states, including Pennsylvania, which has the most electoral votes of any swing state. This gives Trump a clear edge in the race.

Trump’s Pro-Crypto Position

Cryptocurrency regulation has been a central topic throughout the election campaign. Trump has taken a pro-crypto stance and has promised to bring in policies aimed at liberating the crypto sector from stringent regulators.

Throughout the election, Trump has dominated betting activity on Polymarket. Even though there were rumors that large bettors (or “whales”) on the platform might have influenced the odds in Trump’s favor, this has not shaken the confidence of his supporters. Polymarket, which uses cryptocurrency for predictions, has seen significant betting activity backing Trump.

Did Trump Win the 2024 Election?

Yes, Donald Trump has secured a commanding lead in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, with 246 electoral votes, just 24 short of the required 270 to win.
