Donald Trump Says ‘I Want Crypto’ — Warns China Will Win If U.S. Delays

Donald Trump just made his boldest crypto statement yet: “I want crypto.” As Bitcoin regains momentum, the president is calling on the U.S. to lead the digital asset revolution—or risk letting China take control.

In a fiery appearance on NBC’s Meet the Press, Trump declared:“I want crypto. It’s important, it’s popular, and it’s hot.”

He pointed out that cryptocurrencies have outperformed traditional assets during economic downturns and emphasized the urgent need for U.S. crypto leadership. Without swift action, Trump warned, China could dominate the future of digital finance.

Biden’s Mixed Signals on Crypto

Trump took aim at the Biden administration’s shifting stance, criticizing its early crackdown on crypto companies. Now, with elections approaching, he claimed Biden is trying to use crypto as a political bargaining chip.

This narrative aligns with Trump’s broader strategy to position himself as the pro-innovation, pro-crypto candidate—especially as crypto regulation in the U.S. becomes a hot-button issue.

TRUMP Token Scandal Heats Up

A recent controversy adds fuel to the fire. Trump’s meme coin, $TRUMP, jumped over 50% in value after a private dinner invite was announced for the top 220 token holders. Critics called it a “pay-to-play” scandal, while Trump brushed it off:

“I haven’t even looked at it,” he claimed in a recent interview, adding that he donated his full presidential salary.

Despite his denial, lawmakers are demanding answers.

  • Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Rep. Adam Schiff have raised ethical concerns.
  • Even Sen. Cynthia Lummis, a known crypto supporter, said the situation raises red flags.

Is a Second Trump Token Coming?

Meanwhile, rumors are spreading fast on X. Some traders believe Trump may be launching a second crypto token, with potential names like WLFI or TRUTCHCOIN.

These hints reportedly come from documents tied to Trump’s World Liberty Project. The timing is suspicious—altcoins dropped 5–10%, and many suspect insider moves connected to Trump’s next crypto play.

Trump’s Crypto Playbook: Geopolitics Meets Markets

Whether or not Trump holds crypto personally remains unclear. But one thing is certain—his pro-crypto messaging is strategic.

With inflation concerns, rising tariffs, and investor fear on the rise, Trump is positioning crypto as a patriotic solution. His message is clear:

“Lead the crypto revolution… or lose it to China.”
