Crypto’s Big Week: 5 Events That Could Move PI, ARB, MON, XLM & More

The final week of August is scheduled to bring several important developments across the crypto market. There are major updates lined up for Pi Network, Arbitrum, Monad, Stable and Stellar between August 24 and August 27.

While these events are unlikely to move the entire crypto market on their own, they might create fresh narratives around tokenized stocks, stablecoins, blockchain scalability, AI applications and real-world asset adoption.

24 August: Pi Network Changes App Studio Pricing

The first major update comes from Pi Network, which is changing the pricing structure for its Pi App Studio on August 24.

Previously, creators could create or edit applications for just 0.25 Pi, with Pi Network covering much of the underlying AI costs. Now, under the new system, pricing will more closely reflect the actual cost of AI services.

However, apps that attract real users and provide meaningful utility can still qualify for subsidized pricing. Eligibility will also be reviewed regularly, allowing developers to improve their applications and potentially qualify later.

For Pi, the biggest impact will be on utility rather than immediate price. Higher development costs may reduce low-quality applications, while successful apps boost demand for the token within the ecosystem.

24 August: Arbitrum Expands Into Tokenized Stocks

Arbitrum is also moving deeper into the real-world asset market, with tokenized U.S. stocks coming to its network. Recently, Arbitrum One has climbed to #2 in perpetuals, recording $1.48B in volume and $1.834B in open interest.

The development gives users access to blockchain-based versions of traditional equities. The assets are designed around 1:1 backing and on-chain settlement.

For ARB, this builds the network’s RWA narrative and potentially attracts new users and liquidity. More importantly, it shows how blockchains are increasingly being used to bring traditional financial assets on-chain.

Michaël van de Poppe says ARB is showing strong signs of a trend reversal. Furthermore, he expects the altcoin market to move higher, potentially gaining 100–200% or even more. He also says the overall trend now looks up rather than down.

26 August: Phantom Ends Monad Support

On August 26, Phantom will end support for Monad.

Users will no longer be able to view, send or swap Monad assets through Phantom. Although their assets remain on-chain, users can access them through compatible wallets.

The move can create short-term pressure on MON sentiment, particularly because wallet accessibility plays an important role in user activity. However, it does not affect the underlying Monad network itself.

26 August: Stable Network Upgrade

Stable is scheduled to roll out its v1.8.0 upgrade on August 26. It will bring higher throughput and improvements to transaction processing, execution and network infrastructure.

The upgrade will support  Stable’s position in the growing stablecoin and RWA sector. This is by making the network more scalable and reliable.

27 August: Stellar Protocol 28 Testnet Vote

Finally, Stellar is scheduled to hold a testnet vote for Protocol 28 on August 27.

The upgrade focuses on improving Stellar’s smart-contract infrastructure and supports its longer-term push into payments, tokenization and other blockchain applications.

For XLM, the immediate price impact remains limited, but successful testing may shoot the network’s long-term fundamentals.
