Yesterday, Bitcoin reached a new milestone by crossing the $100K mark, continuing its strong bullish rally. This has sparked renewed optimism across the crypto market, with many large-cap cryptocurrencies seeing positive gains.
As we enter the much-anticipated Alt Season, crypto enthusiasts are eager to know what the future holds for cryptocurrencies in 2025.
In the last halving cycle, which ran from May 11, 2020, to April 19, 2024, Bitcoin saw a massive surge of 645.68%. At the start of the current cycle, Bitcoin’s price was around $63,762.59. So far, Bitcoin has grown by 53.8% in this cycle. Experts are now predicting that $120K is a realistic target for Bitcoin in 2025, with some projecting it could reach $150K.
The most optimistic forecasts suggest that Bitcoin might even hit $200K next year.
The Puell Multiple, a metric used to measure sell pressure from miners, supports these bullish predictions. Right now, the index is at 1.241. It peaked at 2.77 on April 20 and dropped to 0.48 on September 11. In November, it fluctuated between 1.3 and 0.93. Experts believe that these patterns point to Bitcoin potentially reaching at least $120K by 2025.
Bitcoin’s rise is also being fueled by growing institutional interest. The political scenario in the U.S. shifted dramatically with pro-crypto candidate Donald Trump’s victory in the recent presidential election. This shift came after the Democratic government’s tough stance on crypto. Trump has announced plans to nominate Paul Atkins, a pro-crypto figure, to replace SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, whose strict regulatory approach has angered many in the crypto community.
On a global scale, Bitcoin is gaining more recognition. Russian President Vladimir Putin recently stated that Bitcoin cannot be banned and that his country cannot ignore the rise of digital currencies. U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, when asked about Bitcoin’s growing popularity, explained that while Bitcoin doesn’t threaten the U.S. dollar, it competes with gold as a store of value.
As Bitcoin leads the way, the altcoin market is also expected to see major growth. Crypto expert Miles Deutscher recently pointed out that the last altcoin season lasted an impressive 88 days. Building on this, experts predict that 2025 could be a strong year for altcoins, with many seeing significant gains.
The BTC price may range between $92,500 and $99,000 for today.
If the bullish sentiment sustains, the star crypto may continue gaining value tomorrow.
