Bitcoin Price Today: BTC Holds Near $77,500 Ahead Of Pivotal Clarity Week For Crypto

Bitcoin is trading at $77,529.59, up 0.6% over 24 hours, as selling pressure remains subdued but a tougher macro backdrop keeps the recovery capped below $80,000. Ethereum sits at $2,513.99, XRP at $1.38, and the broader market is heading into an important week for both stocks and crypto.

A Packed Week Ahead

Markets reopen Monday following comments from AI leaders calling for slower development. Tuesday brings the CLARITY Act’s procedural vote in the Senate, followed by the Fed’s interest rate decision Wednesday, the Bank of England’s decision Thursday, and Japan’s CPI data alongside a BOJ decision and quarterly US options expiration on Friday.

ETF Demand Cooling at Higher Prices

US spot Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $3.34 billion between August 19 and September 4, fueling Bitcoin’s climb from roughly $62,000 to $82,000. But the final four US trading sessions before September 14 saw combined outflows of $462.7 million, a clear sign institutional appetite has softened as prices climbed higher.

On-Chain Data Offers a More Reassuring Signal

Glassnode’s Sell-Side Risk Ratio has dropped to 7 basis points per day from 16 at August’s peak, while long-term holders accounted for just 47% of realized profits, down sharply from 88% in August. Together, that shows older Bitcoin holders aren’t dumping their positions despite the cooling ETF demand.

Fed Decision Looms Large

Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com told Coinpedia that the immediate risk is Wednesday’s Fed decision, with markets pricing an 86% probability of a 25-basis-point rate hike. The 10-year Treasury yield is already near 4.97%, and Brent crude has crossed $107, adding inflationary pressure to an already tense setup.

The odds of the CLARITY Act becoming law in 2026 climbed to 31% on Polymarket after Senate Republicans released a revised bill Sunday night, featuring an ethics proposal signed off by Trump and billed as their final offer to Democrats ahead of Tuesday’s vote.

Altcoins Show Mixed Momentum

Gains across altcoins remain uneven heading into the week. Solana is down 3.97% over seven days and BNB has dipped 3.21%, while Ethereum has managed just 0.47% over the same period. With leverage risk elevated ahead of Wednesday’s Fed decision, Bitcoin’s $76,600 support and the deeper $71,000 level offer clearer reference points.
