XRP News: Why Columbus Day Could Complicate XRPN’s First Day Of Trading

Evernorth now expects XRPN to begin trading on Nasdaq on Monday, October 12, after an administrative delay pushed closing to Friday, October 9. That Monday is Columbus Day in the US, and an XRP community account argues the timing is awkward: stocks trade, but bond markets and banks are closed, so no cash can be wired in or out of brokerage accounts. Stock trades from the previous Friday would also settle a day late, on Tuesday. Japan’s bond market is closed for a holiday and Canada’s for Thanksgiving, while European and UK bond markets stay open.
