XRP News: Ripple’s Fairshake Funding Clashes With Larsen’s $4M Sherrod Brown Support

The crypto industry is split over one of the most closely watched races in Tuesday’s US midterm elections. Ripple is among the largest donors to Fairshake, the crypto super PAC spending heavily to defeat Sherrod Brown, according to crypto commentator Scott Melker. At the same time, Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen has given $4 million to back Brown and spent $22.5 million of his own money mostly supporting Democrats, Melker said. He noted that Larsen’s political views go beyond crypto. The industry has poured more than $200 million into the midterms to push for friendlier rules, with Fairshake accounting for about $154 million. Melker argued that Congress is likely to end up gridlocked whatever the result, and that markets have already priced in the outcome.
