The network stalled at 14:15 UTC on May 28 and was fully restored at 20:32 UTC, according to the Sui Network team. Reports indicate the disruption was caused by a crash bug in the gas charging logic introduced in the version 1.72 software release. The outage temporarily halted activity across protocols including Cetus, NAVI, Panzerdogs, and the USDC stablecoin ecosystem on Sui. No user funds were lost. The incident highlights the operational risks of software upgrades, and a detailed post-mortem is expected in the coming days.
