Stripe is developing a new blockchain called Tempo in partnership with crypto venture capital firm Paradigm. Designed as a high-speed, payments-focused Layer 1, Tempo is compatible with Ethereum’s programming language, making it easy to integrate with existing tools. Currently in stealth mode with a small team, the project aims to make cross-border payments faster, cheaper, and more efficient. This initiative follows Stripe’s acquisitions of stablecoin firm Bridge and wallet developer Privy, further bolstering its crypto payment infrastructure.
